Doctor in Clinical Nutrition and Natural Medicine
Mónica Medina-Dobbs has been in the medical field for the past 20 years. She received her graduate degree in 2014 with a Bachelor of Health and Science. She eagerly continued her education with a master’s degree and a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition and Alternative Medicine and became a Licensed Dietician Nutritionist (LDN) in Florida. She also pursued certifications as a CNS and CDE diabetes educator, and National Diabetes Prevention Certification (DPP). During her undergraduate studies, she had the opportunity to do an internship program in Jacksonville, Florida, at the Mayo clinic called “Preventing diabetes type 2 in the Latino Population”. She carefully conducted a specialization in the effective treatment of Diabetes and metabolic syndrome. When she worked in the medical field, she realized that education in clinical nutrition and functional medicine was essential in achieving well-being to patients. She was exposed to patients with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and chronic pain, with little or no hope of survival due to a lack of education and understanding in preventive clinical nutrition.
“Throughout my career, I wanted to teach behavioral techniques to modify and promote healthy behaviors in my patients and apply fundamental and essential components of life to prevent disease. I have developed a genuine passion for helping my patients get nutrition education. My professional goal was to open my practice where I could offer nutrition, education, wellness, health promotion, and optimization of natural healing through a holistic approach and integrative medicine. Working in hospitals and clinics, I saw first-hand the lack of education given to patients on controlling, preventing, and management of chronic diseases. I am sure that people produce change when exposed to the right environment and have the right tools at their disposal”
In my practice: The Organic Acid Clinic, which opened its doors in September 2020 (after a long struggle with insurance companies to be able to offer my services at a low cost to those who need them the most) today we can provide invaluable treatments within the spectrum of research in the field of clinical nutrition, preventive medicine, and make it possible for those who need it to find health and welfare. Actively accepting new patients from EMED Dr. Rene Pulido, Dr. Luis Anes, Dr. De La Hoz, Saint Vincent Hospital, Baptist Hospital, VPA, and Agape Community Center.
